Although the Capitol Complex is open to the public the Department of State is not open for visitors to enter NOB offices. Those constituents who wish to drop of materials for the Bureau of Corporations and Charitable Organizations or the Bureau of Elections should be advised to utilize the drop box across the street at the entrance of the Keystone Complex.

Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs staff are continuing to process applications as quickly as possible during this emergency. In order to increase the number of health care providers to respond to the COVID-19 emergency, the Governor has suspended certain licensing provisions. Due to the public health risk surrounding the Coronavirus, we are currently unable to accept walk-in customers and phone calls. For all inquiries, please utilize the email addresses found on the Board Contact Information webpage.

The processing of licenses and permits for health care practitioners continues to be a priority. Please refer to www.pals.pa.gov/verify to check the status of a license or permit.

Coronavirus Information:

Welcome to the Pennsylvania online license verification service.  By using this service you are able to search for license information on individuals and businesses regulated by the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs.

Disciplinary or corrective measures taken by the 29 professional licensing boards and commissions  can be found on the disciplinary actions link.  Each entry includes the name of the respondent; the respondent's license number (if any); the respondent's last known business address with the board; the sanction imposed; a brief description of the basis for the disciplinary or corrective measure; and the effective date.

Every effort has been made to ensure that the following information is correct.  However, it should be noted that the names of persons listed may be similar to the names of persons who have not had disciplinary or corrective measures taken against them.

Official confirmation of the current status of a licensee can be obtained by contacting the Bureau of  Professional and Occupational Affairs: 2601 North 3rd Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
