 Wanda Murren was appointed Press Secretary for the Department on March 2, 2015.
As Press Secretary, Wanda is responsible for responding to media requests for information, developing press releases and disseminating public information about the department through various mediums.  She will work closely with the Director of Communications and Press contributing with speech writing and developing presentations for the Secretary’s office.
Wanda, along with the Director of Communications and Press, serve as the Department's liaison to the Governor's Office of Communications. As liaison, she is responsible for preparing and coordinating press releases and public information that require integration between the Governor's Office of Communications and Press and the Department.  
Wanda is a professional journalist with 30 years of experience as a leader in the newsroom.  She started her career as a Staff Reporter with The Evening Sun in Hanover, York County.  She rose through the ranks in various leadership positions, including News Editor, Opinion Page Editor, Managing Editor and Chair of the Editorial Board.  Wanda is the recipient of seven (7) Pennsylvania Newspaper Association’s Keystone Press Awards and two (2) Pennsylvania Associated Press Managing Editors Awards.  Prior to joining the Department, She worked in the broadcast business as the senior administrator at 98.5 The Peak, home of York’s Classic Hits, and Real Country WHVR-AM.
Wanda resides in York County with her husband Darrell Crabbs Sr.
