Director of Intergovernmental Affairs

Danie Bendesky

Danie Bendesky was appointed director of intergovernmental affairs for the Department of State on Jan. 3, 2022.

In this role, Bendesky leads the department's stakeholder engagement for both Elections and Commissions and Regulatory Affairs. In addition, she oversees board appointments for the Bureau of Professional Licensing and Occupational Affairs' 29 boards and commissions.

Prior to her appointment, Bendesky served as development director for Community Legal Services in Philadelphia, where she led the organization's individual and law firm giving programs.

Before that, Bendesky worked on several political campaigns for Philadelphia City and statewide candidates.

Bendesky has a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Rochester. She lives in Philadelphia with her husband, Rob.
