Board Member Information

The State Board of Medicine consists of the Commissioner of Professional and Occupational Affairs, the Secretary of Health or his designee, two members representing the public, six medical doctors with unrestricted licenses who have been practicing medicine in this Commonwealth for five years preceding their appointment, and one who is a nurse-midwife, physician assistant, perfusionist, respiratory therapist or athletic trainer licensed in this Commonwealth.  All professional and public members are appointed by the Governor with the advise and consent of a majority of the members elected to the Senate.
